Open Source Ideas

  • An Opinionated framework with an Express-like API for RabbitMQ in JavaScript
  • What technology should I use.com? A website that you could punch information in about how many on your team (small? No microservices, no Kubernetes), what languages you know (prefer that language). What throughput you need (performance languages like Rust or Elixir), safety (Rust, Elm), target platforms (Swift? ReasonML, WASM?), industry (Julia? Python? TypeScript?). And it tells you what technologies to use. I put in the parenthesis how the choice could change the recommendation.
  • A VSCode extension, or editor that provides GraphQL-like assistance for writing Kubernetes configuration. With hover tips that provide the documentation for the key, auto completing when typing. Showing you all possible options with hints, and some way to show you all available keys. Maybe when holding the Alt key on the keyboard, it shows you greeted out options that aren’t being used. Could leverage the API url info that comes in resource definitions to fetch info on keys and what not. Support for Argo, Argo Events, Cloud Events and other night be useful.
  • A VS Code extension for .example files
  • An NPM package for parsing S3 URLs like https://github.com/mapbox/s3urls
  • The fastest package and docker container to parse DOC, DOCX, ONENOTE, POWEPOINT, XLS, XLSX, JPEG, PNG, ETCETERA
  • A CSS framework to build CSS blueprints and wireframes that are in no way confusable with production elements
  • Designs for specific controls that are out of the box that can be used to enhance existing popular libraries
