lets-wait-and-see-is-not-an-adaptive-measure

At my current company, if we have a habituated pattern of not using a certain tool or not deriving any value from it, we can often collect this data and put it in a spreadsheet somewhere to demonstrate concrete evidence that A) we are not using this practice or tool we've put in place, and B) we are not gaining any value from this practice or tool. When we turn the conversation to "How can we be agile, and adapt knowing this information" the answer from leadership is consistently "Let's just wait and see how it goes for another few months". In some of these cases, we have a year's worth or data or more that our team is not deriving value from it, but regardless, the answer is consistently "Let's wait and see" with no change in sight.
